My experience
More than 15 years as a drum teacher.
From Buenos Aires to Barcelona.
EXPERIENCE AS A DRUM TEACHER
Since 2009, I have been teaching drum lessons both privately and in various music schools, teaching students of all ages and levels, in Spanish and English.
My teaching approach is based on personalizing drum lessons for each student, taking into account their abilities, availability, goals and level of experience. My priority is for each student to enjoy the process and connect deeply with the instrument and music.
In addition to drums, I also play guitar and bass, instruments that I often use during classes to enrich learning.

A little bit of my story
I am Gonzalo Camacho Rodríguez and I have been teaching drums for over 14 years.
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1978.
My first contact with music was at the age of 14 when I started playing guitar, and shortly after, at 15, I discovered my passion for drums. In Buenos Aires, I had the opportunity to study drums with teachers Julián Armani and Rafael Pirolo, and guitar with Miguel Oropeza.
Since I was 16, I have been part of several local Punk, Heavy and Rock and Roll bands. At 18, I entered the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts, where I studied fine arts until 2000.
In 2002, I moved to Barcelona and resumed my drum studies with Salvador Toscano in 2006.
Bands and projects I participated in
I have been part of Santiago Aranguren’s distance project, which connects Barcelona with Buenos Aires, and I have also participated in several local projects of different genres.
Some of them include: The Quarter Note Syndicate (Funk), Woyzec (Folk), Bulb (Folk – Alternative Rock), Emmet Ray Swing Trio (Jazz – Gipsy Swing), Yeite (Duo, soul, funk, folk), Cidonia (Funk – Jazz), Por qué Jeanette (Noir Pop, Post – punk), Barralde (Alternative Folk Rock, as singer and guitarist), Casaplanta (Instrumental Rock), and Las Fuerzas (Power instrumental duo, as guitarist), among others.
In addition, I collaborated with La Banda Mandanga, a batucada and percussion group, with which I participated in several European street art festivals during the years 2014 and 2015.
Nowadays
From 2018 to early 2024, I was part of Pararrayos, a band with influences from Rock, Pop, New Wave, Post Punk, Krautrock and Dream Pop.
During my time with them, we recorded two EPs, available on our Spotify playlist. We also reached the semi-finals in the 2019 edition of the Bala Perduda contest, organized by Sala Apolo, and we won the Music Lab (CCCC Valencia) contest. Furthermore, we have had the honor of participating in several prominent festivals of the Barcelona scene, such as Let’s Festival, Bis Festival and Minifestival, among others.
Currently, I am involved as a drummer in Solmarianela and in several additional musical projects.
